Refund Policy

This Refund Policy outlines the terms and conditions governing refunds of payments made to the GST Appellate Tribunal Bar Association, Surat (GATBAS). By making any payment towards membership, event participation, or donations, you agree to be bound by this policy.

Membership Fees

All membership fees paid to GATBAS are strictly non-refundable.

By submitting an application for membership and remitting the prescribed fees, the applicant expressly acknowledges and agrees that:

Membership fees, once paid, shall not be refunded under any circumstances whatsoever.
This policy applies equally to Annual Membership as well as Life Membership categories.
The non-refundable nature of the membership fee shall apply irrespective of whether the membership application is approved, deferred, or declined by the Executive Committee.
No full or partial refund shall be granted in the event of resignation, suspension, termination, or early cessation of membership for any reason.

Event Registration Fees

Registration fees paid for seminars, workshops, conferences, or other events organised by GATBAS may be eligible for refund subject to the following conditions:

Cancellation made more than 7 days prior to the scheduled event: 75% refund of the registration fee.
Cancellation made between 3 to 7 days prior to the scheduled event: 50% refund of the registration fee.
Cancellation made less than 3 days prior to the scheduled event: No refund.
Non-attendance or failure to participate without prior cancellation (“no-show”): No refund.

All cancellation requests must be communicated in writing within the stipulated timelines to be considered for refund.

Donations

Donations made to GATBAS are generally treated as voluntary contributions and are non-refundable. However, in exceptional circumstances, a request for refund of a donation may be submitted in writing within 7 days from the date of donation.

Such requests shall be reviewed on a case-by-case basis by the Executive Committee, whose decision shall be final and binding.

Refund Processing

Where a refund is approved in accordance with this policy, the same shall ordinarily be processed within a period of 15 to 30 business days and, wherever feasible, credited through the original mode of payment used by the payer.
